MY CAMP JOURNEY:

I joined The Camp Transformation Center in 2015 after being kidnapped and taken there forcefully by my Best Friend (Angela Borruso) when my health was at its worst (it turned out to be the best thing ever).  I have PCOS and a severe thyroid disorder called Hashimotos which makes it difficult to take off or keep off weight.  I was also just about to be diagnosed with Diabetes after a series of terribly high blood sugar/A1C readings, my blood pressure and cholesterol were high, and I just felt overall terrible with no energy for my kids and family.  I felt like I was 56 instead of 36! 

I was able to complete FOUR 6wk weight loss challenges which led to me shedding 80 pounds!  I had NEVER been able to lose weight before The Camp even though I've tried practically everything out there. The best part is that all my lab work is now in the "normal" range!  No more high blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.  I began to have energy again and realized how strong my body actually is!  I still have a long journey ahead of me to make it to my healthy weight but while I continue to work on myself, I've began sharing my story, my recipes, and encouragement through social media to hopefully encourage others who may have similar issues believe they CAN do this too!

Through my four challenges I realized so many things about myself that I wasn't fully aware of.  I realized that I had been battling a food addiction since High School and was able to begin realizing what was behind my unhealthy food choices.  In 2016 I decided to seek professional assistance to begin the process of overcoming my food addiction.  I share my struggles with food, weight, physical activity, time management, self esteem, and life's challenges publicly partly for personal accountability and partly to hopefully help anyone else that may be experiencing similar things in life.

I've used my recipes as a way to keep myself motivated and on task!  Through sharing on social media, I've been blessed with the opportunity to write four cookbooks that feature healthy, Camp challenge friendly food.  I've also recently had the amazing opportunity through The Camp to create a protein bar that is in the process of being mass produced to be sold in all The Camps SOON!  Stay in touch for exciting recipes and posts and let's get healthy TOGETHER!

I AM MMJ

I am most importantly a wife and Mother of TRIPLET Preschoolers and a 3rd grader!  My life has been immensely blessed with family and friends that I love and adore.  My goal is to strive daily to eat healthier, think healthier, chose healthier, inspire healthier, create healthier, live healthier, love healthier and BE healthier!  I would love to do whatever it takes to be around long enough to meet my grandchildren and great-grandchildren!  Life is a GIFT!  Let's savor every moment the best we can!
I LOVE being creative, playing guitar, drums, harmonica, singing, painting, writing, cooking, and encouraging others to be who God designed them to be during this very short life we've been given.
My desire with this website is to encourage us all (including myself) to ENJOY OUR JOURNEY TO HEALTH!  It doesn't need to be torturous, stressful, overwhelming, boring, bland, and frustrating!  If we put our minds to it, we can actually find beauty in our journey and have a great time bringing strength and life to our bodies and minds!
