Green Chile Chicken (FTDI)

2 Ingredient Green Chile "Crackpot" Chicken

MooMoo Jackson Style

Ingredients (LITERALLY ONLY TWO):

6-8 raw Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts

2 cups Green Chile Salsa (any brand)

Instructions (LITERALLY ONLY TWO):

1. Line your crockpot with a crockpot liner for an easy, fast clean up!

2. Dump the chicken and the salsa in your crockpot and cook until chicken is done and tender! Cook on high for 3-4hrs or on low for 6-8hrs.

Note: You can put the chicken in the crockpot either thawed OR frozen. Cook it on the longer time frame for frozen chicken. Weigh your COOKED chicken once finished by simply taking it out of the juice then add it back when done.

**Feel free to add any FTDI Veggies during the last 30mins of cooking for just enough time to soften them! Also, try using RED SALSA in place of Green for another delicious crockpot chicken recipe!

RECIPE Q&A's:

Q: What Salsa should I use? Is Salsa FTDI?

A: Salsa IS FTDI in moderation (check your Condiments and Drinks page in your FTDI Bible). You can use any brand Green Chile salsa for this recipe. I personally like the taste of Herdez Green Chile Salsa. If you are trying to follow FTDI then make sure there is no oil or sugar in the ingredients of your salsa. You can also use homemade Green Chile salsa as well.

Q: Can I use frozen chicken breasts or do they have to be thawed?

A: You can use frozen chicken breasts as long as it is ONLY chicken breast (some say "with rib meat" so don't use that) and as long as there isn't any non-FTDI ingredients listed such as sugar. I see sugar as an ingredient in lots of different bags of frozen chicken. Your best bet is Meats2u frozen chicken breasts from meats2u.com or any Camp Transformation Center with a Meats2u freezer! That's all I use now!

Q: How do I make sure I'm eating an accurate protein portion with this recipe?

A: Weigh your COOKED chicken once finished by simply taking it out of the juice, then add it back when done.

Q: What are crockpot liners and where can I buy them?

A: Crockpot liners are bags that line your crockpot while cooking. They do not melt and they make for a super EASY clean up! They are similar to a baking bag (that we often use to cook our Turkey in on Thanksgiving, but they are specifically for the crockpot). When you are done you simply take out the liner and throw it away! You an find them in the Ziploc baggie section at any supermarket. I buy mine at Stater Brothers.
