Honey Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts (FTDI)
RELAX! Don't get caught up on the word "honey" lol! It's Walden Farm's Zero Calorie Pancake Syrup, not REAL honey! I know honey isn't FTDI but I wanted to mimic the Honey Balsamic flavor for these roasted Brussels Sprouts FTDI Style! Balsamic Vinegar IS FTDI (check your Condiments and Drinks page in your Camp Bible for that info). DO NOT use Balsamic Vinaigrette because that's not FTDI. It needs to be VINEGAR. You'll love this recipe! Try it! Yummy!
Honey Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts (FTDI)
MooMoo Jackson Style
Ingredients:
1.5lbs fresh Brussels Sprouts
1tsp Pink Himalayan Salt or to taste
1tsp Garlic Powder
1tsp Onion Powder
1/2tsp ground Black Pepper or to taste
Zero Calorie Pam Olive Oil FLAVOR non-stick cooking spray
Honey Balsamic Sauce Ingredients:
2tbsp Balsamic Vinegar (NOT Vinaigrette)
2tbsp Walden Farm's Zero Calorie Pancake Syrup (purchase at Stater Bros, Albertsons, Whole Food Stores, or online)
Instructions: PREHEAT OVEN TO 425 degrees
1. Rinse and cut the ends off the Brussels sprouts then cut them all thinly lengthwise.
2. Put them in a bowl, spray them with Zero Calorie Pam Olive Oil FLAVOR non-stick cooking spray, add all the seasonings listed, then toss them combining it all together well.
3. Spread the coated/seasoned Brussels sprouts out evenly in a thin layer on a cookie sheet lined with foil (the foil will help them get toasty).
4. Bake them at 425 degrees in the middle rack for approx 20 minutes or until toasted and a little crunchy.
5. While they are baking make the sauce by combining the Honey Balsamic Sauce Ingredients in a small bowl and stir.
6. Once the Brussels Sprouts are done baking put them in a bowl, pour the Honey Balsamic sauce all over them while they're still hot and stir them up well. ENJOY!
Portion Info: Brussels Sprouts are UNLIMITED for FTDI! Yeay! :)

RECIPE Q&A's:
Q: Are Walden Farms Zero Calorie products FTDI?
A: Yes! As long as it is a zero calorie condiment it is FTDI. See your Condiments and Drinks page in you Camp Bible for info.
Q: Does the Walden Farms Pancake Syrup taste good? Where can I buy it?
A: Some say yes it's awesome and some say yuck! I personally really like the WF Pancake Syrup! It's one of their best products! It's a helpful texture and taste in many FTDI recipes. Try for yourself! I purchase mine at Stater Bros, Albertsons, Trader Joe's, Clark's Nutrition, Sprouts, or online!
Q: Is Balsamic Vinegar FTDI? Where can I buy it?
A: Yes! See your Condiments and Drinks page in you Camp Bible to see it listed. I buy mine at Stater Brothers near the salad dressings but it's NOT a dressing! It's a VINEGAR. There are many different brands of Balsamic Vinegar so what I do is I look at the calories in every one of them on the shelf and I get the one with the LEAST amount of calories. Yes, there are calories in Balsamic Vinegar. I know that usually only ZERO CALORIE condiments are FTDI but Salsa (in moderation) and Vinegars are specifically listed on our Condiments and Drinks page as FTDI in addition to zero calorie condiments.
Q: Can I use Balsamic Vinaigrette?
A: No. Balsamic Vinaigrette is DIFFERENT than plain Balsamic Vinegar. Only Balsamic Vinegar is FTDI. Even if you aren't in a 6wk challenge, Balsamic Vinaigrette won't work well for THIS particular recipe.
Q: Can I use actual HONEY in this recipe instead of Walden Farm's Zero Calorie Pancake Syrup?
A: Not if you are FTDI in a 6wk challenge! You can ONLY if you are not FTDI in a 6wk challenge! Honey isn't FTDI so that's why I used the WF Pancake Syrup in it's place for FTDI.
